Electrical Design Philosophy
Below presents the general procedure executed for a rigourous and reliable Electrical Control System. Depending on time and system requirements, more steps may be added or removed.
- Electrical Drawings
- Adhereing to customer's drawing standard.
- Testbenching of novel or bespoke equipment as per drawings before panel construction.
- Drawings designed with reference to part vendors documentation.
- Recording and documenting of procedure for each device.
- Creation of macros, components and scripts for easy resuse.
- Developed to enable generation of BOMs, wiring diagrams, part list, reports and other inbuilt utilities.
- Electrical Installation & Commissioning
-
- Construction and testing of Control Panel as per drawings & reports.
- Development of safety check list & checking of equipment against safety checklist and regulations.
- Testing of instrumentation where required.
- Writing up of FAT documentation to suffice the agreed FDS.
- Field wiring for FAT test where viable on factory floor.
- Calibration of Instrumentation & I/O checking including E/S as per safety matrix.
- SAT test on site as subset of FAT and commissioning up to this point.
- Proactive Maintenence
-
- Development of common faults list and method statements to deal with said issues.
- Method statements for configuration, troubleshooting, calibration and customisation where possible.
- FDS to be explict with respect to correct operation, to prevent miscommunication.
